Hootsuite Gives a Hoot About 2016’s Biggest Social Media Trends for Business


Ryan Holmes, CEO of social media management vendor – Hootsuite, shares his view of the top trends in social for business.

While Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter are making it easier for businesses to engage with customers—and employees. What I’m interested in is how they’re making it easier for us to present them with earned and paid content that’s engaging and converting.

Of the 5 trends, here are two that you may want to consider for your next campaign mix:

  1. Expand your social reach by tapping into the credibility of your own workforce. Content shared by employees gets 8x more engagement than that shared by the company.

  2. Social media advertising is taking off. I personally have noticed many more B2B ads that are relevant and – believe it or not – are actually bringing value (!). The new generation of “native” social media ads like those we’re seeing on Facebook are targeted with an “uncanny degree of precision.”
